Man with untreatable TB endangers hundreds of people

This is beyond stupid as far as I'm concerned. I resisted posting it the other day, but it just gets more unbelievable. Talk about twists and turns. A man with untreatable TB boards several flights. His new father-in-law is a higher up TB physician at the CDC. Yet the guy flew to get to his wedding and honeymoon? Married the woman, daughter of a CDC doctor knowing he was sick? Yet the said man that is ill says he didn't know he wasn't supposed to fly?

*thinks back to "I didn't know them suspending my license meant I wasn't supposed to drive."* Now he says he has proof that he was told it was OK?

I just don't get it. :dunno: Why would anyone begin to believe these explanations? Somebody has to be held accountable for this crap. They say a "no fly" was issued. Why wasn't it picked up on? I thought our security was so high these days? Hell the airports can't even catch a contagious "flagged" passenger.

this whole thing is stupid. they should just make the guy wear one of those radiation suits. it's a little bit messed up that the guy poses a potential health risk to others, but the message here seems to be "fuck the sick people" and it's not right that they are trying to keep this guy from having any life, and enjoying what could be his last few years.

Yep it sure did slip though security on this one he should have not be give the right to broad the plane with what they knew. But I been listening to the news about so far no one as got it form him so that a good sign. Lets just hope no one does get it. and maybe they look at this and not let this happen again.

omg. once i was tricked into driving someone to the doctors and i had no idea they might have had TB. i was so pissed when i found out. how fucking terrible is that to do to someone?

As LL says this story has many weird twists. His wife's father works for the CDC in Atlanta and is one of the world's leading experts on this untreatable TB germ. His father-in-law swears he did not give him the germ.

I find some of the biggest questions very troubling, the main one why did he get to board after being flagged.

Next are these, not as crucial perhaps but important none the less. Why would the father let him marry his daughter knowing he was ill. Is his wife infected? Why would she marry him knowing it? What of all the guests and family attending the wedding. Is the whole family exposed and figure it doesn't matter? Armed with more knowledge than most have of the disease it seems all three of the main characters in this drama are claiming ignorance. :dunno: There must be more to it than we know so far, must be.

This is also a good lesson as to why people should always take their medication like they are prescribed to them and follow through with it. The more untreatable forms of tuberculosis came about because people took medication to treat it and instead of following through with it they quit taking it as soon as they felt fine. What happened is that in some people the tuberculosis survived and was able to adapt. This happened more than once and in each consecutive form the tuberculosis got more resistant. Now there are some forms out there that are highly difficult to treat because they are so resistant to drugs, and we have to just hope they don't ever mutate to a form where they become more contagious.

They better find out just what happened, I mean my confidence went way down with this event. Like I said in my first post above. They say they're checking into it.
