Goodbye

Parting is such sweet sorrow, good night till it be morrow,
A passage from William’s quill.
Time is fleeting, a moment I borrow,
Protests my requests to keep still.

The journey be unlevel
A broken heart reveals I live,
In the good, I must learn to revel,
In myself, I must learn to forgive.

I poured my heart into every action,
Aimed well past the stars.
Allowed myself, the satisfaction,
Tried to proudly wear my scars.

The memories were for keeps
Never can they be taken.
Defeated the times that made me weep,
Neither were they forsaken.

I learned to dream and to love,
A stroke of wonderful luck.
Sent to me from the border above,
From the girl on the truck.

Along the way, I made some friends,
But only one was forever.
Emotionally torn, attempted mend
Never her bond shall sever.

Goodbye, adios, I bid you adieu,
But not without a tear.
Amazing memories did accrue
With each passing year.

The greatest day has its sunset
Blessings to you, I send.
Closing time let us not forget
New beginnings come from another beginning’s end.

I fought, I cried but always tried,
For many many years,
But in my writing, I would hide
Masking all my fears.

Until we meet on the other side,
For me, hits trumped the misses.
Live your life and keep your stride,
To all, I give last kisses.

Such moving words to bid farewell

But at least you did yourself proud

We all have shared that place

Where despair can be allowed

For something’s gained

And something’s lost

Whatever we choose to do

Comes at a cost

Sometimes the price is worth it

Sometimes it’s much to dear

But mist find a way through

A path that can be clear

Slings and arrows find there target

And take an awful toll

If we trust too much along the way

Let others into our soul
