Sometimes he’ll randomly slap me.
Unexpected.
Unprompted.
In the middle of the day.
Sometimes it’s harmless and playful.
Sometimes it’s hard and disrespectful.
Sometimes there’s a reason.
Most times there isn’t.
Sometimes a spark,
sometimes a storm,
sometimes the calm
before you reshape my form.
Sometimes it makes me smile.
Sometimes it makes me shudder.
Most times it makes me gasp
and want another. and another.
